Get Circulating
When we think of circulation immediately we think about blood. Yes, the “vascular system” with 1,900 gallons of blood pumping through the heart and circulating through veins, arteries and capillaries.
Well, there is the Lymphatic system! It is 2X as large and just as vital to our health as the vascular system. This is where Fat Absorption ~ Immunological Defense & Fluid Balance occurs! The lymph & gland systems including our tonsils, adenoids, spleen, and the thymus defend the body. They filter, purify and return clean fluid to the bloodstream. Removal of waste is critical. If the lymphatic system is not working properly our body cannot remove toxins, fluid builds up in the tissues, bacteria and waste are not removed, we are unable to fight viral, fungal and bacterial disease or regulate the amount of fluid in our tissues… this is where “edema” begins… (swelling of the tissues—especially swelling in the feet and hands). Also, T-cells, B-cells, and natural killer cells don’t get circulated… the get backed up and thicken, waste is not drained or filtered and BAM the ideal environment for all types of illness including cancers!
Here is the thing! The Lymphatic vessels move the fluid in the right direction but our bodies rely on our muscles to move the fluid. Our diaphragms and rib cage as well as the blood pumping through our bodies, assist in the movement. Body movement and exercise is the primary method of moving lymph. A sedentary lifestyle decreases lymph flow by 94%.
It is simple!
Get walking, bending, stretching– yes if you know me you know Yoga..
Any and all movement assists lymphatic movement.
